Band Care Guide – How to Maintain Your Bands
Proper care for your bands is critical for ensuring they have a long life. Whatever the material may be, each requires specific maintenance. Here we look to offer some tips to help you manage your band:
General Band Care Tips
No matter the metal, here are some universal care recommendations:
- Remove rings before use of harsh chemicals, any activity that could be abrasive to the metal, or continued contact with water e.g. swimming.
- Avoid wearing rings during activities that could be creating continual impact against the metal.
- Consider where rings are stored to ensure they aren't being scratched by other jewellery.
Caring for Specific Band Types
Tungsten Rings:
- Use a mild soap and warm water with a soft cloth.
- Avoid wearing in a situation that can cause abrasion.
- Consider use of a toothbrush or cotton swab to reach all areas.
Silicone Rings:

Black Zirconium Rings:
